Job summary

The Associate Product Manager is responsible for serving as the bridge between customers, internal stakeholders, and engineering—translating requirements into clear product direction, supporting development execution, and acting as a functional subject matter expert to help scale and evolve ValidiFI’s product offerings.

Key responsibilities

  • Requirements Elicitation: Proactively analyze and document client needs and market demands, translating them into clear functional specifications and technical feature definitions.
  • Execution-Ready Backlog: Author detailed user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria. Ensure that the development “queue” is always refined and clear, allowing engineering to move fast without roadblocks.
  • Functional Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the primary lead for product-related inquiries, providing technical and functional guidance to Sales, Client Success, and external partners.
  • Cross-Functional SDLC Support: Partner with Engineering and Data Science to ensure requirements are technically feasible. Assist in validating features throughout the development lifecycle to ensure they meet the business intent.
  • Product Enablement: Create and maintain high-quality internal training content, API documentation, and client-facing guidance to support seamless product adoption.
  • Outcome-Driven Collaboration: Maintain a tight feedback loop between stakeholders and technical teams, prioritizing clear communication over rigid process ceremonies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven background as a Product Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting B2B software or data-driven products.
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON structures, and hands-on experience with testing tools like Postman or Insomnia.
  • Documentation Skills: Demonstrated expertise in writing functional requirements and user stories that bridge the gap between “Client Speak” and “Developer Speak.”
  • Tooling: Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms for requirement tracking and documentation.
  • Nice to Have: Industry experience in credit risk, payments, fraud prevention, or Fintech.
